Designing an event website

For my first UI project, I designed a website for the “Korean Food Festival”, fictional events in Paris.

UX

First of all, a bit of UX.

I did five interviews about events, what people need to know about an event, and what they like about it. I merged that into my persona: a 15 to 25 years old person, that want to discover new food and new cultures.

The website must be different before, during and after the event because we don’t need the same information.

Before the event, we need to know the place, the dates and the program of the event. Plus, a CTA button to book a ticket.
During the event, the different activities and their booking become more relevant.
After the event, the website shows the partners and the photo taken during it.

UI

This festival is :

  • Energetic
  • Festive
  • Friendly

I chose four colours: red, blue, yellow and green. Red, blue and yellow are traditional Korean colours. And are present in most Korea-related event.
Green symbolize health and nature, and it’s a good association with a food-themed event.

I chose a script font for the title and a sans-serif font for the text, so it’s friendly but still readable.

And lastly, for the illustration, I drew zigzag and a simplified hibiscus flower (national flower in South Korea) to add dynamism to the whole page.

Final Result

Before, after and during pages of the event
